I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. as a second-generation American. You can say that I was born a Democrat and became a liberal by osmosis. Then, in my college days, Jimmy Carter happened: double-digit inflation, gas shortages. malaise, Soviet expansionism, the Iranian hostage crisis, and the decline of the American spirit. In other words, a liberal fool was destroying our country.
I shook my head at this sad state of affairs and voted for Ronald Reagan for president in 1980 and never looked back. As Reagan said: “I didn’t leave the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party left me.” Me, too!
As a conservative, I have taken up the call against the liberal evil-doers. Each of us must do what he or she can to defend the institutions and traditions that have made America great. I proudly stand in defense of liberty and traditional values. I have actually read Marx and Lenin and I understand their evil philosophy all too well. The liberal Chicago columnists who write for the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times apparently do not understand the corrosive effects of liberalism. Well, class is now in session here in the Windy City and I will be providing some hard lessons for these ignorant scribes.
